Hi there! I’m Ellen!
Elle Makes Dessert is a recipe blog for you: easy dessert recipes for busy people.
I know sometimes it feels risky to try a recipe from a new blog.
Rest assured, every single recipe I publish was created by a real person (that’s me!) in a real kitchen.
My recipes have been imagined, hypothesized, tested, and refined by a real human–with plenty of taste-testing along the way.
I only publish recipes I think are awesome.
I test my recipes, include weight measurements for accuracy, and only publish successful recipes that I’m 100% excited about.
So, you can trust giving my recipes a shot!

Dessert Recipes You’ll Find Here
Right now I’m focusing a lot on cookie recipes. Because who doesn’t love a great cookie?
Cookies are one of my favorite easy desserts. In fact, I’ve been baking cookies for over 20 years–ever since I was kid! They are simple to make, reliable, and oh-so-comforting after a rough day.
Check out my library of cookie recipes, including some more specific categories like Crumbl Copycat Recipes or Single Serving Cookies.
Some other categories I will be adding in due course:
- Small Batch Desserts – because not everyone needs a 13”x9” pan of brownies after all.
- No Bake Treats – one of the best ways to save time in the kitchen, I love no bake desserts.
- Tips & Tricks – learn how to make desserts more quickly, easily, and successfully.

A Little Bit About My Blogging Journey
Elle Makes Dessert is a brand-new website that I started after I grew my first site, Bellewood Cottage, into a successful and profitable blog. I started it riiiiight before having my second child (because really, not enough going on!).
Now that I have a little more time again (and a little less sleep deprivation), I’ve picked it back up and I add recipes to the website every week.
Bellewood Cottage is still my primary website and features a variety of easy desserts and relaxing crafts. It’s the perfect place to browse and learn about new crafts to try or find a great dessert recipe to make for the weekend.
Of course, two sites might not be enough and I often dream of starting more. Someday!
